Masculine Birthday Card Swap

Hi Everybody!

I am participating in a Masculine Birthday Card swap over at Scraps of Color.  The challenge was not to use any bling on the cards.  I went through 3 different layouts before I decided to mass produce this card.  This is the one that I proud to share with others.

I used the French Prep paper pad from Colorbok because of the darker tones.  Actually Hubs chose this pack out of the three that I had originally thought would be great for a masculine card.  I used the Teresa Collins Sophisticated cartridge to create the top note tag.  I decorated the inside of the cards in three different ways because the paper pack only comes with two sheet of each design. So I was a little limited in my quantities.  Though I like all three of them, I think this first one is my favorite.

This one is Hubby's favorite inside.

This was the most challenging card I have ever made.  Masculine cards are so difficult for me but I was so glad that I took this challenge and kept at it until a was created that I liked enough to share.

Well this is all for today's project.  I think I should keep working on masculine cards.  Maybe I will create one manly card a week until I make them in my sleep.  We'll see.

Thank you all for stopping by today.  I always enjoy spending some time with you.  I will see you all next time.

Tootles.

Spring Card Delight

Hi Everybody!

Today I want to ask you all for your opinion.  I am a part of a local card making group at my local craft store. We make cards to showcase and swap with each other each month and also to give away to the local hospitals.  This month's theme is Spring and the challenge is to use Flowers on the card.  I created this card and I think it's lovely but I would love to know your opinions.

The paper line is from Studio 112 and is foiled and shimmered (though you may not be able to see the shimmer in the photo).  The sentiment stamp I used is from Studio G and the butterfly stamp is from the Michael's $1.50 bin.  The card stock is from Recollections.  I just love the weight of the'r kraft card stock.  It is just so strong!!

Anywho, what do you think?

So here it is, my project today.  I want to thank all of you for stopping by!  And I will see you all next time.

Tootles.

Bunny Card Series #4

Hi Everybody!

Can I just start by saying I really, really like this card.  I am so proud of how this card came out.  I followed no sketch but had an idea and went with it.  The sentiment was inspired by Dr. Fraiser Crane from the show Fraiser (reruns of course on the Hallmark channel).  Hubs and I love watching it together at the end of the day.  If you watch Fraiser you know that he always says "I'm listening" and I thought it was a cute phrase and I love this bunny's ears so I married the two and this is what was born.  Okay, enough talking, here is the card...

I did a lot of layering and used two different paper pads to create this card.  The We R Memory Keepers Cotton Tail and Colorbok Sweet Summer.  The image, Lil Mr. Bunny, is from Melonheadz.  She has such a sweet way of creating her images that I was instantly attracted to them.  Go over and check out her blog at melonheadz.blogspot.com.

Well everyone, I pray you all enjoyed card #4 in the Bunny Series.  Stay tuned for card #5.  Thanks for stopping by and I will see you next time.

Tootles,
Kelli

Bunny Card Series #3

Hi Everybody!

So, I know it has been long overdue but I have another card for you.  You want to know what my struggle has been during this series; finding adorable bunnies stamps to use.  I have been to my local craft stores and didn't see too much there and then I realized I want to showcase some artist that you might not be familiar with that I think have the Cutest stamps.  So every card in this series has and will feature digital stamps from various artists.

Today's card comes from Stampfairy and features the Bunny1 stamp.  You can download the stamp here.  And here is my card using this adorable stamp.

Isn't this such a sweet bunny?!  I am in love with him.  I really tried to keep this card simple and not go too crazy by adding the flowers, bling and other embellies.  I think it is simple and sweet.  So, this is card #3; stay tuned for card #4.

Thanks for stopping by everybody and thank you for all your comments.  I SO appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and love.  I included links to all the products I used (well the ones I could find).

Until the next time..

Tootles,
Kelli

Prayer

Hi Everyone,

I know this is not a Bunny card nor is it part of the Bunny Series but I wanted to share this card with you none-the-less.  I think this is a darling image from Sliekje.blogspot.com.  The name of the image is "God is just a prayer away"

I colored him and his teddy bear with colored pencils and I have yet to acquire Copic markers; one day...  I used a light brown, brown and red colored pencil for the hair.  And I added some DecoArt Twinkles to his patches and his teddy-bear's ears.  I think they came out quite cute.

I printed the sentiment, which is from Favorite Favors and will be available soon, onto vellum.  The paper line I used is from Colorbok.  I don't remember the name of the line but I will find it and update this post.

I have been working on more masculine type cards.  So I did ask Hubs about this card and he gave his masculine, thumbs up approval.  :D  I am so proud of myself.  I might go back and addd some buttons for some more embellishment.

So this is my card.  I would love to know what you think of it.

Thanks for stopping by I really do appreciate it.  So I will catch up with you all in the next project.

Tootles!!

Bunny Series Card #2

Hi Everyone,

Here is card #2 in my Bunny Series.  I used another Sliekje image.  I used her Easter 2 stamp that is just simply adorable.  I colored the image with colored pencils.  Isn't he cute!!

I used white Recollections card stock, the 6x6 paper pad from We R Memory Keepers-Cotton Tails.  I am in love with this collection.  The golden yellow paper is from an old DCWV mat stack.

I embellished the card with golden yellow brads from my stash.  I am not sure who they are from, Making Memories I think.  The cream flowers are from Making Memories and the olive flower is from Michael's $1 bin.  I also added some seam binding that matched the brads.

This card for whatever reason was a little bit of a challenge for me.  I just couldn't find the right color pairing.  Maybe I was tired when I started this card, I don't know.  What are your thoughts?  I do want to give a shout out to Krafthead who gave me the suggestion of adding a scallop behind the image and adding a flower.  Thanks Sis!!  :D The scallop I used is from the Paper Lace Cricut Cartridge.

I encourage you all to check these ladies fabulous blog!!  If you are new to their site let them know that I encouraged you to check them out.

I am submitting this card in the Cooking With Cricut Challenge.  Click here for more details.  To participate you must:

    Bunny Series Card #1

    Hi Everyone,

Wow it is has been quite a minute since I last blogged.  I have been reorganizing and re-evaluating what I am blogging about and how I blog and I am going to make some changes.  But I will share more about that later.

I have been crafting while I have been restructuring and I have been on a bunny kick lately in lite of the Easter Holiday.  So here is my first Bunny card.

I started with white Recollections card stock and then added Kraft card stock by Recollections.  I love the weight of their card stocks.  I cut strips of the 6x6 pattern paper by We R Memory Keepers - Cotton Tails. I then added a sheer white ribbon and layered on top of it a looped white satin ribbon and then on top of that I tied light pink & white Twinery baker's twine.  To embellish the card I used white flat-back pearls but against the paper they look purple.

The sentiment I Googled and found on an eHow page.  The image is from Stamp Fairy.  You can find the image for free download here.  They have some really adorable stamps.  I colored the image with colored pencils and added DecoArt Twinkles to his ears.

This was a really sweet card to make and I enjoyed making it.  So stayed tuned for card #2 and as always, I soo appreciate you stopping by.

    Kelli
