Hi there! I would love to be part of the giveaway too! I love prizes! :0) Your card is just gorgeous! I like this one the best of the ones you've done on the hop. I've never done a "matchbox" card, but will certainly give it a try! Just another nice twist to make a card a little more unique. Very pretty! It's been fun being on the hop with you. :0)

A very BIG congratulations to Amy!!!  Amy, I will send you an email shortly so that I can find out where to send the package.  Thank you all for participating and subscribing.  Hubs and I were talking about doing a weekly giveaway every Monday.  What do you think?  I personally love this idea.

Well, it's about that time.  Thank you all for spending some time with me!  I honestly and truly appreciate it!  Until next time.  :)

Jillian's Birthday Blog Hop Day 4 & Giveaway!

Happy Monday to you!

I pray you are all enjoying your day.  Today is day 4 of Jillian's Birthday Blog Hop.  It's sad how fast birthday celebrations come and go.  Deanne at http://deannescreativejuice.blogspot.com/ is hosting a blog party to celebrate Jillian at http://princessandthepaper.blogspot.com/ and it is the last day It has been such a pleasure to participate in this event.  I have had so much fun.  So for my final project I made a matchbook style card.  I was debating what project I should make and finally rested on this card.  The choices were a Tri-Shutter card or an S-card, but Annie @ http://anniebeescraftroom.blogspot.com/ did such a fantastic job that I think I want to admire hers for a bit longer before I try my hand at one.  Then I thought about making a birthday gift, quick and simple note cards, like the one I saw on Sandy's blog at http://www.papertransformer.com/.  But since I am technically on vacation visiting family and have limited supplies, a card was definitely in order. So here it is, my Matchbook Style Birthday Card:

The card measures 5 1/2x4 1/4 and folds at the top (portrait style). The top of the card slips right under the pink band at the bottom.  I used the "Handsome" paper collection by Autumn Leaves.  I think this collection is just perfect for birthdays.  The solid pink comes from Best Occasions via Walmart, the card base is from Staples, the ribbon from Offray and the Vellum sticker, part of the Birthday Bash collection, is designed by Cathy B exclusively for Stickopotomus/EK Success.  I added some DecoArt Twinkles around the card for some pizazz.  :)

I love the white ribbon and the feel it gives to the card.  I added some more Twinkles to the end of the paper ribbon strip.

I used the "Make A Big Wish" stamp from Studio G for the sentiment.

And there you have it, my Matchbook Style Birthday Card.  I really like this card and I am sure that I will make another one with a more masculine feel.

Jillian's Birthday Blog Hop Day 3

What a beautiful Sunday it is.

I pray you are all enjoying your day.  Today is day 3 of Jillian's Birthday Blog Hop.  Deanne at http://deannescreativejuice.blogspot.com/ is hosting a blog party to celebrate Jillian at http://princessandthepaper.blogspot.com/ I want to share with you a simple Birthday card.  Most of the time I tend to make my cards and layouts the same.  Lots of paper layers that cover most of the card stock.  But today I thought I would try something a bit different for me.  I made a simple card today and here it is.

Isn't it pretty!  I used paper from Colorbok Summertime collection pack.

The cupcake stamp is from Studio G.  I added DecoArt Twinkles to the cherry and I colored the cupcake wrapper.

The inside of the card I stamped the cupcake partially off the corner and I decided that I would hand write the sentiment, which is why it's blank.

Here is the blog list to help you find your way!

My Favorite Blog  <--where you are

My project for today is a Birthday Brown Bag greeting card.  I truly love these cards and the versatility they offer.  I used the tag as a place to hold a gift card on this one but how fabulous would this be as a birthday invitation.  The inside of the card itself could be for the Stats of the party; you know, the who-what-where-when-whys.  The tag could be used for directions or to let the recipient know where the birthday boy or girl is registered for gifts or where to shop for gifts for them.  I just love the these Brown bag greeting card SO MUCH!!!

Don't you just love sparkle for anything birthday!  I do, and this star is the perfect closure on this card.

Everybody loves cake and wishes!

Now after you make your wish you can pull out the tag to see if you got what you wanted...

Yes!!!!!  It's just what I always wanted.  Well at least for my sister it is. I would prefer a gift card for shoes.  Can anyone say DSW with me?  :)

Make sure you vote for your favorite post at Deanne's Creative Juice Voting!

So that all for todays project.  Thanks for stopping by and spending time with me.  I will see you tomorrow for Day 3, a new project and maybe even a giveaway!!

Here is the blog list so you don't lose your way! Just click on the blog names to go straight to that blog - Make sure you vote for your favorite post at Deanne's Creative Juice Voting!

Jillian has a hop going on over at her Blog so be sure to check her out!  Please tell her that you came from Deanne's Blog Hop and give her some birthday love.

So without further delay here is my first project.  I decided that I would do two scrapbook layout of my nephew's 4 birthday party.  As I look at the pictures and scrap them I am reminded of just how fast time flies.  My nephew was the cutest thing in the world at 4 years of age.  He is still cute as can be now but at 17 things change just a bit.  I still love my little guy.  Here he is with his Mom blowing out the candles on his birthday pizza.

For the perfect matching yellow stars I colored clear rhinestones with a yellow sharpie marker.

I added 4 clear rhinestones around the 12x12 page to make the page pop.  The photo corner help make the pics stand out.  I used the paper tearing technique on this layout as well.

On this 12x12 page I used a combination of techniques.  I used dry embossing on the vellum and used a Fiskars embossing plate.  I added Sticko glitter letters for the title.  This photo is very special to me because it has both my nephew's in this shot.

I added some more photo corners and some dimensional stickers.

Here's a trick when adding vellum to a page.  Try to put the adhesive on the paper that you are sticking the vellum to, this will help you avoid the glue marks showing through.  I do love this banner though!  :)

Well guys I pray that you enjoyed the layouts and thank you so much for spending time with me. I truly appreciate it.  My sincerest apologies for not getting this post up sooner. I am having major computer issues.  But it is technically still the 10th of June on the West coast.  Thank goodness for time zones.

Be sure to stop by Jillian's blog: http://princessandthepaper.blogspot.com/  and Deanne's blog: http://deannescreativejuice.blogspot.com/  for some more great projects.

Have a great night everyone and I will see you tomorrow, day 2, with another new project.

Father's Day Cards

Happy June!!!

So we are almost halfway through the year, can you believe it?  June marks the start of Summer, lots of fun, and of course Father's Day. I decided to get a head start on my cards. Here are three cards for the Father's that are closest to Hubs and I.

This one is for our dearest friend.  The white card stock is from Staples.  Why Staples, because when I started scrapping I didn't know about all the paper companies out there and since I went to Staples to get office supplies, I knew they would have the cardstock there.  It was bonus that it's acid & lignin free.  The black card stock if from my stash o' scraps.  The red mat base is from Autumn Leaves - Carefree Autumn Collection.  The digital image, "Cross Carrying Calvin", is from Favorite Favors (yay).  He is on sale right now for June in honor of Father's Day.  The brads are from Making Memories.  I colored the image using black, gray and white colored pencils.  The sentiment is also by Favorite Favors; I handwrote the sentiment on this card.  The sentiment reads, "The love of the Father was displayed through the Son".

This card is for one of Hub's best friend.  Made just like the one above using the same products.  The only thing differect in this one is the choice of mat designs but it's part of the same Carefree Autumn collection, and the sentiment is stamped.  I really like the way these cards came out.

This last card is for my Father-In-Law.  Again the white cardstock used is from Staples.  I used DCWV for the blue flourish mat and the striped paper.  The brown ribbon, which is from Offray is actually covering a metallic silver scalloped strip of cardstock because Hubs thought that the scalloped edge looked too girly.  I thought is looked great!!  But after I thought about it and started playing around with different things, I actually liked the brown ribbon better.  He thought the brown ribbon, actually ribbon in general is girly, no matter how you use it.  I totally disagree.  What's your take on ribbon use?

The image, Umbrella Jim, is by Favoite Favors.  I also used brown eyelets from Making Memories and my white Bic jelly roll pen.  The brown circle mat I cut with my Cricut at 3 1/2" and used cardstock from Best Occassions via Walmart.  The sentiment inside the card and the "Happy Father's Day" were printed on the computer.  The wording on the inside sentiment which reads, "May the goodness of the Lord rain down on you", is from Favorite Favors.  I colored Jim using blue, green and brown colored pencils.

So there you have it. These cards will be in the mail between today and tomorrow for an early arrival.

Thank you for spending time with me, I really appreciate it!!  Please let all the wonderful Dad's out there know that they are loved and appreciated & let them know I said "Happy Father's Day".
