Spring Card Delight

Hi Everybody!

Today I want to ask you all for your opinion.  I am a part of a local card making group at my local craft store. We make cards to showcase and swap with each other each month and also to give away to the local hospitals.  This month's theme is Spring and the challenge is to use Flowers on the card.  I created this card and I think it's lovely but I would love to know your opinions.

The paper line is from Studio 112 and is foiled and shimmered (though you may not be able to see the shimmer in the photo).  The sentiment stamp I used is from Studio G and the butterfly stamp is from the Michael's $1.50 bin.  The card stock is from Recollections.  I just love the weight of the'r kraft card stock.  It is just so strong!!

Anywho, what do you think?

So here it is, my project today.  I want to thank all of you for stopping by!  And I will see you all next time.

Tootles.

Bunny Card Series #3

Hi Everybody!

So, I know it has been long overdue but I have another card for you.  You want to know what my struggle has been during this series; finding adorable bunnies stamps to use.  I have been to my local craft stores and didn't see too much there and then I realized I want to showcase some artist that you might not be familiar with that I think have the Cutest stamps.  So every card in this series has and will feature digital stamps from various artists.

Today's card comes from Stampfairy and features the Bunny1 stamp.  You can download the stamp here.  And here is my card using this adorable stamp.

Isn't this such a sweet bunny?!  I am in love with him.  I really tried to keep this card simple and not go too crazy by adding the flowers, bling and other embellies.  I think it is simple and sweet.  So, this is card #3; stay tuned for card #4.

Thanks for stopping by everybody and thank you for all your comments.  I SO appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and love.  I included links to all the products I used (well the ones I could find).

Until the next time..

Tootles,
Kelli

Heart Balloon Bear Card

Hi All,

For today's post I created a Valentine's Day card.  I first thought I would give this to Hubs but I think it might be too feminine for him; actually the more I look at it, it is too feminine for him.  That's ok I still like it.  This card came from an Amy Rysavy friday sketch.  Click here to see the sketch.

The Heart Balloon Bear image is from Angelique at http://sliekje.blogspot.com/2010/02/beertje.html.  I just love this little image!!  And it is a free digital image.

I colored him in with colored pencils and once I was finished I added DecoArt Twinkles to the heart balloons and a little to his tummy.

All in all I think the card came out rather cute.  This was a really, really easy card to make.

What I used..
~Michael's brand paper
~Studio G ink
~Studio G stamps
~Recollections card stock
~Queen and Co. black rhinestone bling
~Sheer black ribbon from my stash.

And that was all.  Super fast to assemble and I love this layout!  Be sure to check out Angelique and all her free images and Amy Rysavy.

Thanks for stopping by Everyone!  Until next time..

Have a joyous day!!!

Cupcake Love Card

Hi All!

It is 5 days before Valentine's Day and in keeping with the Spirit of Love I made this card. The image is from sliekjestamps at sliekje.blogspot.com.  There is a Free Digital Stamps group on Facebook and this stamp was listed on the posts and I grabbed this image there.  Isn't she cute!

Hubby thought that the sentiment should be "I love you almost as much as cupcakes."  I thought that was a cute sentiment but I chose to use this stamp from Studio G instead.

What I used..
~Pattern paper from Michael's $1 section.
~Recollections Card Stock
~DecoArt Twinkles
~Shabby Treasures from the $1.50 bin at Michael's
~Michael's bling
~Studio G ink
~Studio G Love stamp
~Dollar store doily

Thanks for stopping by.  You should go to www.sliekje.blogspot.com and check out her adorable stamps!

Until next time..

My 25 Days of Christmas Challenge! Day 23

Hi Everybody!

So Day 23's project is a fun Santa card.  I think this card is so cute.  I am loving this paper pack from Recollections this year!  So much fun!!

The card stock and pattern paper is from Recollections' Bright and Jolly paper pack.  I really like using the Recollections brand because some of their products are made State side and I am a big supporter of American made.  I cut Santa out of one of the papers and then glues him on the black card stock and then cut a thin black border around the image; instant die-cut.

The note spot was cut from the Teresa Collin's Sophisticated Cricut cartridge. I inked the edge with black in so that it would stand out.  Then I cut out a sentiment from another page in the pack, added a black backing and that's it.

What I used..
~Recollections Card Stock
~Recollection Bright and Jolly paper pack
~Studio G black ink
~Studio G letter stamps
~Queen Kat black blink
~Lace
~Sheer black and opaque black ribbon
~Teresa Collins Sophisticated Cricut cartridge

So this is my 23rd project. Just two more to go.  So I will see you in the next blog.  Until then...

Thanks for stopping by

My 25 Days of Christmas Challenge! Day 22

Hi Guys,

So here is my day 22 challenge.  I used my scrap card stock and paper and created a gift card, card.

Isn't it cute?!  This card is simple cute adorable.  I added DecoArt twinkles to the snowflakes to make them sparkle and then I stamp the penguin and colored him in with color pencils.  I added two rhinestone to the little snowflakes, more twinkles to the ball on his hat, and inked around the edge to make it stand out.  Sheer black ribbon and three black rhinestones finish of the front of the card.  Super quick and easy.

The inside of the card is even easier.  A piece of patterned paper that I stamped with black ink and that is all she made.

What I used...
~Red card stock
~Pattern paper from Recollections Bright and Jolly paper pack
~Queen Kat black bling
~Studio G stamps
~DecoArt Twinkles

So there you have.  Thanks for stopping by today and I will see you in the next blog.

My 25 Days of Christmas Challenge! Day 6

Hi Again Everybody!!

Wow Day 6 and I am on a roll and getting into the swing of things.  I think I am really liking my Day 6 card the most.  I love swirls/flourish and flowers and bling/glitter together in any combination or arrangement.  So here is my card.

The paper had the design on it originally and what I did was to add the sheer ivory and maroon ribbon. The I stamped the gift box in brown ink onto tan card stock, adhered two layers of foam tape on the back and placed the image over the knot.  I added the pearls one by one in the swirl pattern; with a gold glitter pen I outlined some of the flourish and drew on the gold corners, then I added the silk flowers.

Lastly, I colored in the holly on the image added some more gold accents to the present.  All in all I am very happy with the end result.

What I used:

-Champagne flat back pearls
-Ivory and Maroon sheer ribbon
-Gold glitter pen
-Silk flowers
-Studio G image
-Studio G brown ink

Thanks for stopping by for Day 6 and I will see you back again tomorrow on Day 7.  Have a great day!!!

My 25 Days of Christmas Challenge! Day 4

Happy Sunday!!

Welcome to Day 4 of my 25 Days of Christmas challenge.  Today's project is my second card of the season and I must say I had a lot of fun making this card.  Have any of you read the meaning behind the candy cane, aka "The Candy Cane Story"?  If you have never read the story then you can read it below.  I have always loved the candy cane story and thought I would incorporate it into a card.  Here is what I created:

The title has a bubble in it for dimension.

I added a spin feature to the card to bring the story to life in the card.  The candy cane stamp turns to change the cane into a 'J' for Jesus.  A red brad in the center of the ribbon helps it to spin.  I popped the candy cane and the red and white mats behind it with foam tape.

I printed the story from the Internet.

Here is the story...

If you can't read the small print of the picture then you can follow the link, http://www.kidtokid.org/candycanestory.html, and read it.

What I used:

-Making Memories Holiday Paper pack
-Queen & Co. black rhinestones
-Nicole Craft green rhinestones
-Studio G ink
-Studio G candy cane stamp
-Recollections card stock
-Cricut Home Decor Cartridge

So here is my Day 4 project.  Please let me know what you think.  And I will see you all in a little bit for Day 5.  Thanks for spending some time with me.

Blog with ya later.

My 25 Days of Christmas Challenge! Day 1

Happy December everyone!!

It is December first and the start of a lot of great things.  The Countdown to Christmas starts, for song shopping begins, for others the arrival of an awaited birthday to look forward to.  But for me, a challenge for myself.  I am challenging myself to a 25 Days of Christmas challenge.  From now until Christmas I am going to make and blog about 25 craft projects.  Since I don't normally blog everyday this is going to be a serious challenge, but one I think I can handle. So here is my first project.  Altered Composition Books that are actually for a swap that I participated in at Scraps of Color:

Book one is a beautiful brown embossed paisley that I paired with white ribbon, a white silk gardenia, purple roses, little blue flowers, and a white dogwood bloom. To embellish further I added brown flat-back pearls, white feathers that I inked with brown ink and a little sparkle swirl.  A white satin ribbon is what I used to cover the spine.

Composition Book #2
Book Two is an ivory embossed floral design that I added brown satin ribbon to frame the ivory antique trim.  I added more white flowers that I inked brown, some more brown flat-back pearls, white daisies, little cream flowers and the white dogwood blooms.  I added a cream, sheer, shimmery ribbon for a little sparkle.  A brown satin ribbon cover the spine.

Composition Book #3
Book three is a matted brown and pink rose pattern that I added the white feathers inked in pink, & pink and champagne flat-back pearls. I hand drew a sparkle flourish along the spine.  Then I took silk flower petals, inked the edges and hot glued them together to create a base that the flower cluster sits upon.  I also inked the pink and ivory roses to help them stand out and give them a wilting look.  If you look close you can see the little white daisies.  The ribbon edge is a piece of antique lace that I placed a brown ribbon on and then a white scalloped edge, sheer ribbon on top of the brown.

The objective was to make 3 books all the same or as close to the same as possible.  I had a hard time finding a paper pack, that I especially liked, that had three of the same designer paper within.  And I soo, fell in love with K&Company's "Julianne" 12x12 paper collection.  So to try and keep within the guidelines I made each book with the same design.  Each book is stamped and signed on the back.

I had a ball making these books!!!  I know that I will make some more for myself since these were for swapping.  They really would make some fantastic Christmas gifts. Hmmmm.....  So let me know what you think.  I love reading your comments.  Thanks for spending some time here with me.  I can't wait to see what tomorrow's creation is.

What I used:
-K&Company "Julianne" Specialty Paper
-DecoArt Twinkles
-Offray Ribbon and Antique Lace from an estate sale
-Feathers from Joann's
-Flat-back pearls
-Silk flowers
-Studio G pigment ink pads
-Studio G stamps
-Recollections Champagne pearl cluster

Until next time, Keep creating!!!
