Happy Monday to you!
I pray you are all enjoying your day. Today is day 4 of Jillian's Birthday Blog Hop. It's sad how fast birthday celebrations come and go. Deanne at http://deannescreativejuice. blogspot.com/ is hosting a blog party to celebrate Jillian at http://princessandthepaper. blogspot.com/ and it is the last day. It has been such a pleasure to participate in this event. I have had so much fun. So for my final project I made a matchbook style card. I was debating what project I should make and finally rested on this card. The choices were a Tri-Shutter card or an S-card, but Annie @ http://anniebeescraftroom.blogspot.com/ did such a fantastic job that I think I want to admire hers for a bit longer before I try my hand at one. Then I thought about making a birthday gift, quick and simple note cards, like the one I saw on Sandy's blog at http://www.papertransformer.com/. But since I am technically on vacation visiting family and have limited supplies, a card was definitely in order. So here it is, my Matchbook Style Birthday Card:
The card measures 5 1/2x4 1/4 and folds at the top (portrait style). The top of the card slips right under the pink band at the bottom. I used the "Handsome" paper collection by Autumn Leaves. I think this collection is just perfect for birthdays. The solid pink comes from Best Occasions via Walmart, the card base is from Staples, the ribbon from Offray and the Vellum sticker, part of the Birthday Bash collection, is designed by Cathy B exclusively for Stickopotomus/EK Success. I added some DecoArt Twinkles around the card for some pizazz. :)
I love the white ribbon and the feel it gives to the card. I added some more Twinkles to the end of the paper ribbon strip.
I used the "Make A Big Wish" stamp from Studio G for the sentiment.
And there you have it, my Matchbook Style Birthday Card. I really like this card and I am sure that I will make another one with a more masculine feel.
Here is the blog list to help you find your way!

Hi there! I would love to be part of the giveaway too! I love prizes! :0) Your card is just gorgeous! I like this one the best of the ones you've done on the hop. I've never done a "matchbox" card, but will certainly give it a try! Just another nice twist to make a card a little more unique. Very pretty! It's been fun being on the hop with you. :0)

Hi, Kelli! Your card is wonderful! It's so cheerful and now I wish I had a big piece of cake and a glass of cold milk! Thanks so much for all of your sweet compliments about my work during the hop. It has been a real pleasure participating in it with you. When you get ready to make your first tri-fold shutter card, give me a shout if you have any problems. They're really not as difficult as they look.... just a lot of pieces. I have one for an anniversary and one for a birthday in the making right now and it gets easier with each one.
I'm following you and hope we can stay in touch periodically. I would love to be entered into your blog candy giveaway.
