Practical Scrapper DT Project - Birthday Cards

Hi Everybody,

I have been in such a mood to create birthday cards lately so this project was right on time.  So when I saw that the challenge for Practical Scrappers was birthdays I was in heaven!  This card is also going to be the start of my "birthday card" series.

So let me show you my card and then I'll tell you what I did.

First I started with an image.  So I chose a Birthday Party image from Melonheadz Illustrating (I love her images) and I colored her up using Copic Markers.  I had crystal glitter glue and gave her sparkly shoes, hat, and dress.

I also used the Deconstructing Jen sketch #125 but instead of using the sketch as a portrait sketch I turned it on it's side and used it as a landscape.  I am really pleased with how the card came out.

I added some gray flat back pearls to the card just to give it that extra Umpf and then I embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment and that was all she made.  Just as a suggestion you may wanna go over to the Practical Scrappers blog and check out he other fantastic cards cards the DT created. You can never have enough birthday cards.

So this is the first Happy Birthday card.  I am not sure how many will be in this series but I'm having fun in the process.

Thank you all so much for stopping by and I will see you next time.

Kelli

Im So Sorry....

Hi Everybody,

I hope you are all doing well.  I want to first address the elephant in the room and apologize for my extreme absence. That last 4 months have been a bit of a bear for me to handle. With Thanksgiving here in the States and then Christmas and New Years, and then some....Yeah a lot has been going on.  But I have a great reason as to why.

I have been extremely exhausted since right after Thanksgiving up until now.  Getting up going to work and then as soon as I walk through the door I was falling asleep. I took a test to find out what was going on with me and to my Husband's and my amazement......

WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!!!

I know right!  Hubs and I have been waiting 6 years for the day when we would be pregnant.  We actually got pregnant July 2013 but we lost the baby in August '13.  We named the baby Hannah Hope.  I didn't want to forget that first experience of being pregnant.

But, two days after Thanksgiving, Nov 30, 2013, I took a test and we found out we were indeed pregnant once again. We kept it really quiet until the doctor was sure that we were out of the woods for a miscarriage.  She confirmed us at 11 weeks when we went in for our first visit. Here is a picture of our lil' love bug at 11 weeks old.  The very first picture.

So here we are, at 16 weeks pregnant this week and going in for our second visit to see if we can find out the baby's gender.  I am nervous and excited all at the same time.

So I hope you will all forgive me about not posting but I have little energy to make anything let alone post something.  But I do have a few projects to share with you all.  And I will hopefully get those projects posted over the weekend.  It's President's Day on Monday here in the states and that is a national holiday for us, so there is hope for posting.

Okay, everyone.  I have to get ready to go to my gender appointment.  Until later..
