Proverbs 3 Envelope Mini Album

Happy day Everybody!

I made my first envelope mini album, Yay!!!  I have seen so many videos on different ways of making this but I kept my first one simple.  I made it out of envelopes from Kenneth Hagin's Ministry, http://www.rhema.org/. The blue envelopes where a perfect color for the base of the album.  The chipboard covers are made from granola boxes.  I thought the idea of the granola boxes and the paper pack went well together.  Anywho, here are some quick pics of the album and the tags.

The album tags will fit a 3x5 photo easily without cropping.  The front and back of the tags are the same throughout the album.  I used brown card stock as hinges to connect the envelopes together.  I really kinda like this album.  I think this will be a great little gift for a man due to the colors and simplicity of the album.  When I finish the embellishments I will take some more pics and show you all.

Inspired Projects

A Big Hi and Hello To Everyone!

WOW!!!  I can't believe that it has been a little over a week since I last spoke, wrote, blogged to you all.  I can not let that happen again...I missed you all too much!!  This past week I have been completing projects that I have begun, starting new projects and creating some much needed cards.  There have also been so many new developments that it is kinda hard to keep track of them all.  I have so many ideas in head that I had to write them down and I can't remember them all to write them down.  No worries, they will return to mind as all good ideas do. :D

Okay, enough talk.  Let me show you some of the projects that have been done...

If you are a friend on Facebook then you may have seen this card.  I have seen so many wonderful, colorful cards that I have loved; that became the inspiration for this one.  For this card I used a Staples brand, acid & lignin free white card stock for the base.  Best Occasions Deluxe Card stock in the maze yellow as the under mat and DMD's Adhesive Mat Stacks in their Fancy Pants design is where the yellow printed paper is from.  I added a satin white ribbon along the bottom and a blue star brad from Making Memories.  The little bee girl was cut with the Cricut using the Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge at  3" (pg 70-outfit, pg 41-hair).  Her bee wings were cut with the same cartridge but at 1" (pg 75-wings).  I took a standard size hole punch and cut out her little bee friends; I drew the wings, head and stinger.  The sentiment was cut with Cricut using the Stong Script font at 1".  And that is all there is to it.  Isn't it cute?!

This sweet little cards was inspired/recreated from a card I saw created by Jewels Paper Jewels http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnYz5z3RKaE I adored this card and had to make it.  I used the Cricut Cartridge Home Decor to cut out the little birdies at 1" and the flower at 2".  I used the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge to cut the circle at 1 1/2".  To cut the edges of the mats the birds are on and the card I used decorative scissors.  I just really like to colors of this card. The white card stock is the Staples brand, the green is from Best Occasions and the patterned paper is from Hot Hues - Designer Paper pack.  The sentiment, "Just a little Tweet" was hand written.

This "Missing Ewe" card is one that I am very proud of because it features new patterned paper from The Flourish Collection by Favorite Favors.  This is the very first digital paper collection. Six different papers - 3 patterned, 3 solids, borders, flourishes, alphabets in 3 different colors; I love it!!  Can't wait to show it to you!!  I will let you know when it is ready.  So let's talk about the card.  White card stock from Staples, black under mat is from DMDs paper reflection.  Pattern paper - OURS!  The die-cut frame is from K&Company and the ewe is cut from the Paper Dolls Dress Up Cricut Cartridge at 3" (pg 77).  The months are stamped using the Autumn Leaves Messy Dates Stamps and gold Colox Box ink.  The sentiment was again hand written on this card.  This is my favorite Card to date.  I am so, so excited about it and all that this card means and represents.

It means that Favorite Favors is expanding and new ideas are flowing and that is always a good thing.  We are expanding, creating digital papers, embellishment and even digital stamps. I will do a blog on the stamps as well.  We also will soon be going video!  WHOO HOO!!!!  So you can see that there are a lot of new developments on the horizon and as soon as they are ready I will let you all know.  :D

It's A Girl!

So how is everyone today on this beautiful March 1st day?  Staying creative I pray!

I have encountered so many new things this past week.  I have so much to share and not enough time to tell it all.  But isn't that the problem with all of us creative geniuses? <insert huge grin here>

A cousin of mine, well, really my sister's cousin, my sister and I have different mothers.  Anyway, my cousin's daughter had a little baby girl in October and I asked my cousin for some photos of the baby to make an album to surprise her daughter with.  So that is what I am going to share with you today.

Now remember the Mini Matchbook album from Laura of "Following the Paper Trail" that I did for the Spring challenge by Mary of "Cardz TV"?  Remember how much I loved the album?  Well I did another one this time in a baby theme.  I will post the link to the blogs of these two creative women below.

So here is the moment you have been waiting for. Dun, dun, dun!  The unveiling of the "It's A Girl" Mini Matchbook Album....

I really love how this came out.  It is not too busy.  I kept it on the conservative side because I am not completely confident on the mother's taste and style.  I had to create the swirl bling with the gem pieces I had because I didn't/don't have any swirls.  I used some silk flowers that I found at the $.99 store.  The gems, glitter letters and some of the velum stickers are from EK Success.  The patterned papers are a part of three different packs.  1) The Butterbean Baby Girl pack from Marcella by K&Company, 2) Brenda Walton Small Wonders Girl - Double Sided Mat Pad by K&Company, and 3) the Pastel Mat Stacks by Die Cuts with a View.  The card stock used is a pastel pack from Nicole.  The pacifier and white roses are by Trico.  The pacifier, roses and sheer white ribbon are also from the .99 store.  :D  Love those!  Some of these items can be purchased online.  Other items used are retired. :(

Here is the spine of the album.  I LOVE adding embellishments to the spines when I can.

Okay, let's go inside the album...

Isn't it Pretty?!  I just received the "Baby Stats" from the Grandmother, my Cousin, so I will print those out on some vellum and adhere that to the inside cover (on the green side).  Here is how I did the cards...

So Sweet!  The Titles are from "Me & My Big Ideas (MMBI)".  Unfortunately, these vellum stickers are discontinued, they are from 1999.  BUT, here is a great trick!!!  SCAN THEM then you print them out and use them over and over again.  This is really great for those stickers that aren't being produced.  Now don't get me wrong, I am a huge supporter of buying supplies when they are being produced.  Otherwise that is just bootlegging!  But these stickers are so old.  I checked the MMBI website first to buy these stickers, then I checked eBay, then all of my other sites that I go to.  Then I googled the stickers and still found nothing.  So don't say, "Kelli told me not to buy multiple supplies." That is not what I am saying at all.  :)  The tabs on the cards, the flower, heart and star, are cut with the cricut from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge on page 71 of the book.  I used Tall Ball>Shift>Tag at a 2" setting.

I Love these cards!  The daughter sentiment (left) is from the vellum Quote Stacks by Die Cuts With A View (DCWV).

So Cute.  The distressing on the left card is actually done with pastel chalks.  The reason: because I do not have any of those little ink ones.  And I figure, use what you got until you can get what you want, or need!  The vellum letters (left) are from Miss Elizabeth.  I propped the picture of the baby (right) with dimensional stickers.

Hush now, sleeping in progress.  LOL!  I make myself laugh sometimes.  I think these are my favorites.  Mainly because I adore the pictures.  I had such a great time making this and I pray that the new Mom will like it as well.
